Communicative and Practical Approach
Objective: Ensure that students can use English in basic everyday life situations, such as introducing themselves, describing their daily routine, talking about their hobbies, and asking simple questions.
Method: We will adopt the communicative approach, focusing on language practice from day one. Students will engage in practical situations that allow them to gain confidence in their abilities to express themselves in English.
Modular Course Structure
- The course is organized into weekly modules, each with a specific topic (such as presentations, description of places, or daily life) that allows knowledge to be built progressively.
- Each module includes content and activities to improve all linguistic skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking), although with special emphasis on comprehension and oral expression.
Varied Didactic Material
Videos and audios: To improve listening comprehension and pronunciation, students will access short videos and audios with simple dialogues, slow and clear pronunciation, and vocabulary appropriate for the A2 level.
Visual Resources and Text: Downloadable PDF materials with useful vocabulary, grammar and expressions for each topic, allowing students to review and study at their own pace.
Glossary and Flashcards: Each module will include an updated glossary with key vocabulary and flashcards to reinforce new terms.
Interactive Activities
Practical exercises: Interactive questionnaires, vocabulary games and multiple choice exercises will be used to help students consolidate what they have learned in an entertaining way.
Oral Practice: Students will complete recording activities where they can practice pronunciation and fluency, such as recording a short presentation or describing their daily routine. These recordings will be reviewed and receive specific feedback.
Discussion Forums: Students will participate in forums where they can write about specific topics, interact with their peers, and ask questions to improve written communication.
Live Classes (Optional) and Support
Live Sessions: To reinforce learning, live sessions will be scheduled via Zoom (or a similar platform) where students can practice in a more conversational environment and receive immediate support from the instructor.
Continuous support and mentoring: Throughout the course, the instructor will be available to answer questions in question forums and provide timely feedback. Students will be able to send private messages on Moodle for personal queries.
Evaluation and Feedback
Continuous evaluation: Each module will include quizzes and practical activities that will serve to evaluate students' progress in each skill.
Personalized feedback: Students will receive detailed feedback on their pronunciation activities and in the forum, to improve their use of vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation.
Evaluations at the end of each topic: Tests will be carried out at the end of each module and a final exam to measure mastery of level A2.
Motivation and Gamification
Badges and Achievements: To encourage motivation and engagement, students will be awarded badges for completing activities, participating in forums, and achieving good results on quizzes.
Weekly recognitions: The instructor will send weekly messages highlighting the group's achievements and progress, to reinforce the sense of community and student progress.
